Archives & Special Collections invites the ArtCenter community to an Open House in the Jules Bates Artrouble Center.

Archives & Special Collections preserves and provides access to the historic photographs and records of ArtCenter, archiving the materials related to our institution’s legacy. Our Special Collections feature photography from Jules Bates and Artrouble, the creative trio of Bates, David Allen, and Phyllis Cohen, along with other photograph and manuscript collections, rare books, graduate theses, oral histories, and artists’ books. The Center features an open study space available for class visits and researchers working with materials from the collections.

The Center, which opened in 2021, was made possible through a generous gift from ArtCenter Trustee Melissa Lora and Michael Lora in memory of Melissa’s brother, Jules Bates (BFA 79).

We invite you to come and take a look at what we have to offer at our Open House on September 27th, including some giveaways and a raffle for attendees. We look forward to seeing you there!
