Latinx Heritage Month 2023

The ArtCenter Library Familia will like to wish everyone a happy National Hispanic (Latinx) Heritage Month.
The 2023 theme is: Todos Somos, Somos Unos: We Are All, We Are One.

September 15 to October 15.

Latinx Heritage Month celebrates the contributions by American citizens of Spanish, Mexican, Caribbean, and Central and South American ancestry. Over the course of the 30-day Heritage Month, seven countries celebrate their independence anniversaries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and Chile.

1968: Began as Hispanic Heritage Week under Lyndon B. Johnson.

1988: Expanded to cover a 30-day period under Ronald Reagan.

August 17, 1988: Enacted into law.

Stop by the library to check out Latinx artists and authors featured in our collection!
