Research Guides and Liaison Librarians

Research Guides

Wondering where to start your research for a project or assignment? To help get you started with your research, we've designed fantastic and easy-to-use research guides. These guides are maps that will point you to the essential resources for your major and related topics: resources you won't find by searching Google. Here you'll find books, ebooks, subject-specific and industry online resources, magazines, images, and more. Please see this video tutorial for more information.

The Research Guides can be explored in several ways: you can search through all the guides alphabetically, by subject, by type or by the Library staff member who created the guide. Either way, you will find essential research tools and curated picks to help get you started!

How Can Liaison Librarians Help?

Are you looking for specific materials or just want to connect with someone who can offer guidance on Library resources? Starting a new project can be daunting. That’s where your Liaison Librarian comes in! Equipped with a thorough understanding of the ArtCenter Library’s resources, your Liaison Librarian can point you to the information you need to produce great work! They can help not only by suggesting books, articles, magazines, e-books and films, but also search terms and strategies on your topic. They are happy to meet with you for in-depth, one-on-one research consultations, demonstrate how to create bibliographies, direct you to cutting-edge design research and tools, and provide citation assistance. Liaison Librarians can save you time and energy by helping you navigate our collection and fulfill your creative vision for class assignments and studio projects.

How to Get in Touch

The Liaison Librarian Program at ArtCenter Library delivers personalized reference and research services via chat and/or on Zoom based on your major or field of study as your primary contact for help. You can quickly and easily find a Liaison Librarian specializing in your topic and contact them directly.

Or, you can click the Ask-a-Librarian chat icon at bottom right of this page right now and ask who your Liaison Librarian is. If you're on Hillside campus, feel free to drop by, or better yet, schedule an appointment.

Whatever your academic needs, we're here to help!
