The ArtCenter Library Familia would like to wish everyone a happy National Hispanic (Latinx) Heritage Month.

The 2024 theme is Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.

For over 50 years, Hispanic Heritage Month has been celebrated in the United States from September 15 – October 15. The tradition began as a week-long event in 1968, expanding to a month-long recognition in 1988. The beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month on September 15th honors the Independence Day of several Latin American countries, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. September 16th is Independence Day in Mexico, September 18th is Independence Day in Chile, and September 21st is Independence Day in Belize.
