Art Center (Europe) Collection in the Virtual Archives

Archives & Special Collections recently completed processing the Art Center (Europe) photographs collection. Art Center (Europe) opened in the fall of 1986 in Switzerland with 39 students from 13 countries. It offered a preparatory program, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design, and a Bachelor of Science in Product Design and Transportation Design. The school closed just before its tenth anniversary in March 1996. During the 10 years of its operation, more than 500 students graduated from the European campus.

The collection consists of over 5,600 images of the building and grounds, faculty, staff, students, events, classroom environments, and student work. Visit the Virtual Archives to see almost 1,800 digitized images. In addition to the photos, we now have the Art Center (Europe) publications online, as well as t-shirts that were created for graduation and events.
