An International Vision: A Tribute to H.C. Andersen

A new exhibition is now on view in Archives & Special Collections, linking two eras and two cities through art and imagination. Hendrik Christian Andersen (no relation to writer Hans Christian Andersen) was a Norwegian-American sculptor, painter and urban planner active in the early 20th century. His sculptures took inspiration from Classical works from his newfound home in Rome, infused with fantastical and modern elements.
