Banned Books Week 2018

Join ArtCenter Library for Banned Books Week, a celebration of the freedom to read and access uncensored materials!

Did you know that numerous libraries across the country continue to face censorship attempts? The American Library Association publishes a yearly list of the Top Ten Most Challenged Books, which often includes several graphic novels and illustrated children's books. Banned Books Week offers a valuable opportunity for dialogue about censorship and the importance of intellectual freedom.

Visit library locations at either campus during Week 3 to learn more, and pick up a Banned Books Week button to show you support the freedom to read!

Drop by the Fogg Library's front desk at the Hillside Campus to enter a raffle to win one of the following Banned Books: George by Alex Gino, In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak, Persepolis by Marjane Sartrapi, Saga Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples, This One Summer by Mariko Tamaki and Jillian Tamaki.
